Should food brands use TikTok?
TikTok is available in over 150 countries, has over 1 billion users, and it took Instagram six years from its launch to gain the same amount of monthly active users that TikTok managed to achieve in under three years! BUT it is very hard to find UK food brands using TikTok (maybe because of the UK’s advertising restrictions).
The majority of users are under 24, and its age-gate starts at 13, people are on TikTok to express themselves without judgment so it is for bold brands who could benefit through influencer partnerships or through the TikTok Creator Network.
It is worth considering if your audience is Gen Z as part of a multi-strand comms plan (as long as you are doing the other channels very well first!)
